Our Previous Capture Systems
In the early 1970's we created the first solid state capture system with one memory level and later the system was ugraded to 2 levels which remained in production until 1993. The Solid State MultiLevel Capture system, or MUCAP as it is often called, is the industry standard of pipe organ capture/combination systems. First introduced in 1984, it is found in every type of organ console all over the world. As always, when we design a system we expect it to have a very long life and also to be able to add to the basic system over time as new technology becomes available.
How to find your system
Single Level Capture
If the console has no way to change the memory level then there is a good chance it is a single level capture. Inside the console of organ chamber look for a plywood box,
there will be cover on it and so the circuit boards will not be visable but the wires will be entering the box. The single level capture box made to length to suit
the size of the console but the cross section should be about 12 inches by 8. Unfortunately the system cannot be upgraded without rewiring but we offer the SSOS Caplite system
which can be easily wired in. We are also happy to provide reapir parts and advise your builder on repairs.
Dual Level Capture
If the console has an A-B switch to change the memory level then there is a good chance it is a dual level capture, if it is one of our systems the panel will be brass and say SSL.
Inside the console of organ chamber look for a plywood box,
there will be cover on it and so the circuit boards will not be visable but the wires will be entering the box. The single level capture bo is made to length to suit
the size of the console but the cross section should be about 9 inches by 8. Unfortunately the system cannot be upgraded without rewiring but we offer the SSOS Caplite system
which can be easily wired in. We are also happy to provide reapir parts and advise your builder on repairs.
Multi-Level Format A
When the MUCAP was first designed 8 memory levels was as much as anyone wanted, now we can do virtually unlimited amounts. The MUCAP A has a brass panel with a rotary switch marked 1-8 and an SSL logo.
In the console the MUCAP has black metal ends, slots for circuit boards that are visable and plywood top and bottom. Originally designed in 1982 the system is still produced today albeit with new technology.
We have records of the systems, spare parts and masses of choice for upgrades check the MultiLevel Capture page for more information.
MLC-02
The MLC-02 is a two memory level capture system for small consoles with upto 32 stops designed in 1993. There is a black level control with A and B. Inside the console is a black metal cabinet with MLC-02 on the door.
The MLC-02 has a feature called scope which programs the pistons and so on site changes to the console can be made.
This was designed as a fixed specification system and so there is no path to upgrade, if you need to add more stops, memories or a piston sequencer recomend the SSOS Caplite system
or if you wish to redo the switching system as well, then an integrated system such as the Capture for MultiSystem may be a good choice. Of course we have spares and support
available for the MLC-02 if you need them.
MLC-08
The MLC-08 is a eight memory level capture system for consoles with upto 64 stops designed in 1996. There is a black level control with 8 positions. Inside the console is a black metal cabinet with MLC-08 on the door.
The MLC-08 has a feature called scope which programs the pistons and so on site changes to the console can be made.
This was designed as a fixed specification system and so there is no path to upgrade, if you need to add more stops, memories or a piston sequencer recomend the SSOS Caplite system

Total Recall
Originally a floppy disk system now upgraded to USB. Total Recall backs up and restores the entire piston memory or in Live mode adds
additional removable memory levels.
